Electrical Conductivity
Electrical Conductivity Sensors
Greenspan manufacture several electrical conductivity sensors. All are made in our Melbourne facility.
With over 35 years of experience manufacturing water quality sensors we know what is required to make robust electrical conductivity sensors that are affordable and accurate.
Greenspan’s Australian made EC sensors are designed for very long-term deployment at unattended monitoring stations
The EC range are fully submersible and concurrently measures the fluid’s electrical conductivity and temperature to give salinity levels.
The salinity sensors all offer full scale ranges from 500 to 75,000µS/cm, with or without temperature compensated output. Electrical Conductivity sensors with none standard ranges up to 200,000µS/cm are available.
For EC sensors with cables, you can choose custom lengths of sealed cable. Alternatively, you can fit some EC sensors with a waterproof socket with a matching cable plug. Contact Greenspan to discuss this option.
EC SENSOR CONSTRUCTION
Constructed from durable Acetal, our EC range have endured the harshest Australian environments for decades. For reliability, Greenspan EC sensors have no wetted metal components to corrode. This makes the sensor suitable for high conductivity (high dissolved solids) applications and even for water with high acidity.
For protection, the sensor head is fully epoxy encapsulated. A hole through the middle allows water to flow. It is here that the water provides magnetic coupling for the measurement to take place. Hardwired to the back of the sensor is an 8mm diameter submersible rated cable.
Once installed and powered, the sensor will measure conductivity from 0 to full scale, as inscribed on the sensor body in micro siemens per centimetre (µS/cm).
There are no moving parts on our electrical conductivity sensors and no serviceable components.

Australian Made
Greenspan has made EC salinity sensors in Australia for over two decades. Our experience has allowed us to design sensors that reliably deliver accurate data in the harshest environments Australia has to offer.
With every Greenspan water quality sensor, you receive; local support from our experienced sales and service technicians, local repairs and recalibration from our Melbourne-based engineers, and access to local spares from our factory in Melbourne. No other brand of water quality sensor can offer such exceptional service.

Integrated Battery Power
The EC-2500L logging salinity sensor is available with an integrated battery pack. Using non-rechargeable lithium batteries the EC-2500L can be discretely deployed for long durations without the need for solar panels of external batteries.
Bespoke Stainless Steel
We are able to make bespoke designs of many of our water quality sensors. For industrial water quality monitoring, we can make sensor bodies from stainless steel and add in a threaded flange which allows fitment in industrial process piping systems.
